Seniors
and Handicapped - Can't Make it to Dinner?
Maybe we can bring it to
you! (Subject to Availability)
We
know there are many in our area who are unable to attend our dinners, whether
due to lack of transportation or health issues. Volunteer Coordinator Glenda Ford-Baldwin,
along with our team of volunteers, will deliver meals to any seniors or handicapped
(as well as one for a caregiver) who cannot attend in person. Deliveries are subject
to avilability and are scheduled on a "first come, first served"
basis. If you'd like to speak with someone about delivery, please send
us an email. You can also reach Glenda by calling 431-5324. (Area code is
217.) Delivery reservations must be made Monday through Saturday
preceding each dinner. Do NOT call on Sunday, as we will be unable to add you
to our schedule.
We
can only accept calls for deliveries beginning the Monday before each dinner.

From
the beginning, the Foodstock team has looked forward to providing hot, nutritious
meals to those in need. In January, 2009, the vision became a reality. Since then,
we've served more than fifteen hundred meals.
Monty
Schroeder serves as our King of the Kitchen, managing everything from menu planning
to preparation. And thanks to the generosity of County Market (North) and Vermilion
Valley Produce, we're able to feed many more people! Monty's recipes are always
healthy; each meal is hot, nutritious, and includes a small dessert. In fact,
we're serving everything you'd expect at a Sunday dinner - except the sermon!
And while the dinner series is designed to help those in need, all are welcome.
The dinners are free to all. However, many have expressed great interest in offering
donations and we certainly won't turn any help away!
The
Village of Tilton has graciously donated the use of their building at the Tilton
Ball Park. Thanks to their generous support, we can now serve more people, and
in a location that's easier to find.
Many
thanks are also due to County Market (North) for their significant support for
the dinner series. We very much appreciate everything they do to help ensure our
projects are successful!
